Who We Are
Quicklotz was founded in 2010 with a simple but powerful idea: buy distressed and liquidation merchandise and give it a second life, first by reselling to customers online, then through our chain of discount stores, and eventually in bulk to buyers around the world. What started in the attic of a founder's in-laws has grown into one of the most recognized liquidation companies on the planet.
The Spark
Twelve-year-old Sam Pires was captivated by the dawn of the internet. eBay had just launched, computers were becoming household tools, and Sam was already in the thick of it, building PCs, installing software, and helping his father bring the latest technology into the family business.
He had a passion for design, and in the afternoons after school, he could be found at his father's store creating banners, signs, logos, product labels, and eventually websites.
That same year, Sam opened his first eBay account, shipping used tools, shoes, and gadgets from the US all the way to Brazil, where he'd photograph and list each item on Mercado Livre. He didn't know it yet, but he was laying the foundation for everything Quicklotz would become.
The Leap
At twenty, Sam earned the opportunity of a lifetime when his parents sent him to America for college. He spent his first year immersing himself in the language and culture, building on everything he'd already taught himself as a teenager. By the time he finished, Sam had graduated Magna Cum Laude with a quadruple degree in Business Administration, e-Commerce, Marketing, and Computer Science Software Applications.
Outside of class, he poured his time into real businesses, handling marketing, design, and websites for friends and anyone who would let him help. As an immigrant who couldn't legally work for pay, he gave his skills away for free for all five years of college. He knew every project was an investment in himself.
With a Green Card in hand, and now free to not only work but to start his own business in America, Sam launched Quicklotz from the attic of his in-laws.
The Mission
Quicklotz serves customers across the globe. Sam and his team bring deep, hard-won experience in international trade, navigating travel, cultures, regulations, languages, and every detail required to make each transaction safe, honest, simple, and fast.
Sam's purpose is to give back everything he's learned through years of sacrifice, mistakes, and success.
